What is Detached?
Detached is a quirky little, bite-sized puzzle platformer in which you control the character with detachable limbs! Made by Peasant Ash in just seven days for Brackey's Game Jam, this cute little game has you using your wits to get through puzzles by purposely detaching and reattaching limbs and body parts around obstacles. Weird, clever, and surprisingly addictive in its one week of conception.
How to Play
Limbs can detach from the main body on command, letting you:
- Throw limbs to hit switches or weigh down platforms.
- Reattach body parts in new positions to climb, jump, or reach hidden areas.
- Experiment with physics-based puzzles—sometimes losing a limb is the key to progress!
Usually, WASD moves your character, and you click the mouse to detach and reattach body parts, but it does require a dash of creative thinking to master the mechanics of limb control.
Tips & Tricks
- Step out of the conventional box: In fact, some puzzles even require... to sacrifice a limb, forever!
- Timing is key: Limb throws trigger moving platforms... quite literally on the fly!
- Stay alert in the corners: Hidden collectibles or alternate paths await your exploration.
Introduction
Detached was built-in Brackey's Game Jam, a very popular event where developers create games in a week's time. Despite such short dev time, its peculiar mechanic and a tight approach have made it a cult favorite within the indie puzzle scene.
Play Unblocked
Being a lightweight browser game, Detached runs well on just about any school/work computer. Just look for it on itch.io or game jam archives to start!
